SBC Presidents Panel “The Supreme Court and Same-Sex Marriage: Preparing Our Churches”

At this year’s Southern Baptist Annual Meeting Ronnie Floyd led the President’s Panel on the same-sex marriage issue. The speakers on this panel were Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Matt Carter, Ryan Blackwell and Dr. Rosaria Butterfield who came to faith out of the LGBT community.  This was one of the most helpful, biblical, level-headed, Gospel-oriented discussions I’ve seen among evangelicals about this volatile issue that sees many Christians sliding into anger on one side, or Gospel-emptying acquiescence on the other.

There isn’t currently an easy link to this panel discussion, but go to the following link and navigate to Wednesday Afternoon and you’ll find this panel on page 2.

Coming Home; New Heaven & New Earth: The Gospel Coalition 2015 National Conference

This years TGC National Conference “Coming Home” is now available online. The usual suspects gathered in Orlando in April to talk about Heaven. Don Carson, Tim Keller, John Piper, Phil Ryken, Ligon Duncan, Mark Dever, Voddie Baucham, and a new face, a pastor from Brazil, Augustus Nicodemus Lopes, gave the plenary addresses.

From the website:

The conference titled Coming Home: New Heaven and New Earth sought to stir longing for our ultimate home in heaven as we explored the sweep of redemption from creation to consummation, from Genesis to Revelation. Through times of worship, prayer, fellowship and instruction, we sought to reaffirm the Bible’s teaching on eschatology and declare in word and song with joyful hope that Jesus is returning soon. Along with the nine main plenary sessions we had more than 50 workshops and focus gatherings led by speakers addressing topics including evangelism, homosexuality, student ministry, sexual abuse, faith and work, and more.

Don’t miss Al Mohler’s workshop address “Aftermath”, or G. K. Beale & Ligon Duncan’s workshop “The Gospel and Eschatology.”

G3 2015 Conference: The Bible is the Word of God

James White, R. O. Roberts, Josh Buice, Voddie Baucham, Paul Washer, Tim Challies, Steve Lawson and David Miller deliver addresses at the G3 2015 Conference about the Word of God.

From the website:

The church of Jesus Christ in every generation is given the weighty charge to proclaim and preserve the Word of Truth.  What we believe about the Bible will shape how we live, how we worship, and how we seek to educate our children and grandchildren.  Have you considered the lack of Bible reading in a typical worship service in our present day?  Have you talked with your friends outside of your church about their family worship patterns?  If you use the word “catechism” outside of a church or conference setting today, you may receive strange looks of complete confusion.  The fact is, we are living in a day where the Bible has become the most popular book of history and yet the most irrelevant book among the culture. God has breathed out His Word.  Preachers have proclaimed God’s Word.  Martyrs have died to preserve God’s Word.  Today, we don’t have an option to relax when it comes to the inerrancy, authority, sufficiency, veracity, infallibility, and holiness of God’s Word.

Pilgrims in Progress: 2015 Ligonier Regional Conference

Ligonier held it’s regional conference in the San Francisco area this past March, and the sessions are available for free streaming. The tableau of speakers included Robert Godfrey Jr., Steve Lawson, Derek Thomas and R.C. Sproul Jr.

The subject of the conference obviously takes it’s cues and point of view from Bunyan’s classic Pilgrim’s Progress with the goal of wrestling with “what our heavenly citizenship means for our earthly pilgrimage, our pursuit of truth, and our future hope, among other topics.”

The sessions are:

The messages are available on YouTube or at Ligonier’s website.

The conference can also be purchased for download.

The Shepherd’s Conference has finished with a bang by MacArthur. This years conference has been titled The Inerrancy Summit, and it has assembled a stellar gathering of speakers: Alistair Begg, R. C. Sproul, Steve Nichols, Ligon Duncan, Carl Trueman, Mark Dever, Steve Lawson, Greg Beale, Derek Thomas, Al Mohler, Sinclair Ferguson, Iain Murray, Kevin DeYoung, and no I didn’t make this up.

Most of the sessions are on Vimeo, and more audio and video options will be coming later, I presume.
