Capitol Hill Baptist Church audio collection

Pastored by Mark Dever, Capitol Hill Baptist has an extensive and faithful preaching and teaching ministry in many venues, from Sunday services to special events and the Henry Forum lectures.  Dever pulls in quite a number of evangelical ‘celebs’ through his ministry organization 9 Marks.  This is a great audio resource that I frequent often.

Bethlehem Bible Church audio collection

Bethlehem Bible Church of Boylston, MA has a large, very well organized and accessible audio section.  Sermons can be organized by speaker, title, date, top downloads or Scripture reference.  The 4 elders and a number of deacons rotate teaching.  They have also had some very interesting guest speakers including Steve Lawson, John MacArthur, James White, Robert Reymond, Don Whitney and more.

2006 Men’s Conference ‘Men on a Mission’

A wonderful set of messages for men delivered at Grace Community Church’s Men’s Ministry conference in October of 2006.  All the speakers are, or have been, pastors on the mission field.

Men on A Mission at Home, John Glass, France
John takes a sobering look at tragedies in ministry.  The first was the life of Bob Pearce who founded World Vision and Samaritan’s Purse.  His life is one of unbelievable missionary success yet coupledwith a tragic failure as a husband and father. The second was the example of Eli and the tragedy of his sons.  Timely and important message for husbands and fathers who are in ministry.

Men on A Mission in the Midst of Suffering, Brian Biedebach, Johannesburg, South Africa
Brian takes us through Romans 5 having gone through some very troubling trials.

Men on A Mission for God’s Wisdom, Michael Mahoney, Chile
A quote, ‘Why are there so many men who struggle with temptation and succumb to the pressures of sin today?….Because there is no fear of the Lord.  We have created a God who is too much like us, and we are very happy with Him.’

W. A. Criswell huge sermon library

If only there were more powerful preachers like W. A. Criswell.  For 55 years Criswell pastored First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas.  The Criswell sermon library is a searchable database, which is a bit clunky to navigate, but well worth the trouble.  I would like to see them organize some pages by series or Bible books.

Not all sermons have media, and unfortunately the audio content is all streaming Windows Media files.  Nevertheless, it’s a great resource to have this preaching giant on hand.

S. Lewis Johnson Eschatology studies

John MacArthur’s recent Shepherd’s conference message has spawned a great deal of controversy in reformed circles. His message ‘Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist is a Premillennialist’ has easily been the most discussed conference session this year. On this blog it is the most visited and commented post, though I don’t post debates on this site. In light of the interest in this subject, here are a series of sermons I think may be helpful for those wrestling with the premillennial position.

S. Lewis Johnson provides an intelligent and thorough series on premillennial eschatology in 37 messages. He begins the series with 5 messages examining the amillennial, postmillennial and premillennial perspectives. The next 14 messages examine the Biblical covenants in great expositional detail. The remaining 16 messages detail the Second Coming, the Tribulation, the Kingdom age, and the Final Judgment. S. Lewis Johnson is well known for his careful exegetical handling of the Word of God.

John MacArthur at Omaha Bible Church

MacArthur was a guest of Omaha Bible Church (in 2005) and brought some very important messages. He was interviewed on a radio show where he talked a little about his beginnings in ministry, but the bulk of the discussion focused on the battle for the sufficiency and clarity of Scripture and the integrity of the gospel message, which is under attack from within the church. The other messages elaborated on this topic in more detail.
