A Brief History of Trinitarian Thought

Since the subject of the Trinity has become an unfortunate sandstorm of late, perhaps we would be wise to invite some theological pachyderms into our watering hole to weight in with their vast biblical wisdom.  Carl Trueman lays out a historical context for how the Trinity has been understood throughout church history, and the battles with doctrinal error that have been fought to defend those doctrines.  Along the way he visits Nicea, Athanasius, Augustine, John Owen, Jonathan Edwards, Van Til and others. With a better historical context perhaps we won’t be so quick to blunt the doctrine of the Trinity with the over-worn brick of unity.
