Don Carson is one of those low profile, yet greatly important contributors to the true church of Jesus Christ. In the war on truth, Carson is a highly skilled sniper at finding the correct targets and issues at stake in many controversies and theological slides.
His devotionals ‘For the Love of God’, two distinct volumes, are excellent. He has written ‘A Call to Spiritual Reformation’, ‘The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God’, ‘Love in Hard Places’, ‘Worship by the Book’, ‘Jesus Sermon on the Mount and His Confrontation with the World’, ‘The King James Version Debate: A Plea for Realism’, ‘The Gagging of God’, and ‘Divine Sovereignty and Human Responsibility: Biblical Perspective in Tension’, and ‘Becoming Conversant with the Emerging Church’. His commentary on John ‘The Gospel According to John’ is excellent.
For pastors and serious Bible students he has written the incredibly important book ‘The Cross and Christian Ministry’ which every person involved in ministry should read. He has also written ‘New Testament Commentary Survey’, the excellent ‘Exegetical Fallacies’, and ‘Hermeneutics, Authority and Canon.’
